Fast relief and a genuine cure for Common Cold by TCM

Common Cold? Choose Traditional Chinese Medicine for fast relief and a genuine cure!

What should you do if you have already caught a cold?

Are you still using Panadol? Antibiotics? Drinking plenty of water and resting?

-       Panadol and antibiotics have side effects and do not provide a genuine cure; they may leave hidden dangers.

-       Drinking too much water can actually weaken the spleen and stomach, causing dampness inside and lingering symptoms.

         What to do?

Colds come in different styles and the appropriate approach is required.

First of all, with all colds, rest is advised and eating light, easily digestible foods throughout the illness.

Then choose the right treatment to alleviate symptoms and shorten the duration of the illness.

If you are sensitive to the cold and wind, use heat therapy as part of your treatment.

Revitalize with ginger and scallion water,
Generate a gentle sweat with a mugwort foot soak or by covering with a blanket.
Use hot packs on your navel and "Da Zhui" (the meeting point of all yang meridians).
Spine kneading from bottom to up for 9 times.
Ginger slice scraping on the back.

If you are sweating excessively and are sensitive to heat, use cold therapy.

Apply cool packs (ice pack not recommended),
Revitalize with a lemon, mint and green tea infusion.
Boost blood flow with Gua Sha (scraping the back with a massage tool).
Bleed the "Shao Shang" and "Shang Yang" points for sore and swollen throat.

If you are uncertain of the type of cold you have, visit your Chinese Medicine practitioner.

History:

In TCM, a common cold is referred to as Shang Han and its progression and transformation can be quite complex. In severe cases, it may even lead to death.

1,700 years ago, the renowned physician Zhang Zhongjing left behind a classic masterpiece called the "Treatise on Cold Damage and Miscellaneous Diseases." Among its 113 prescriptions for external contraction of cold damage, it comprehensively covers the variations of colds and provides effective solutions.

In cases where the symptoms are addressed appropriately, it is possible to achieve quicker recovery beyond your best expectation. Traditional Chinese Medicine is by no means slow or ineffective and external contraction of cold damage is undoubtedly one of the areas where Traditional Chinese Medicine excels.

Therefore, seeking treatment from a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner is the first choice for treating a cold.
